As I stand alone in outer space,
The silence that stretches across the universe, is the thickest noise.
It ebbs and flows and hurts, even as I plug my ears.
Sleep eludes as I hear the noise of wordlessness;
The sounds, they burn my eardrums and lash at my consciousness.
I want to throw it all back into space;
But, space with its empty sockets stares back - expressionless.
I stand and wonder - do I hear too much? Is it just me?
